WAVe: Workout Adventure

WAVE uses purposeful movement to support participation readiness, motor planning, regulation, strength, safety, confidence, and community access.

Activities are adapted to each environment and may include walking, fitness, climbing, recreation, water activities, or other movement-based experiences.

WAVE is not therapy. It is an adult-centered participation model that recognizes how movement, preparation, and regulation can support fuller involvement in community life.

DriveWays and
Community Mobility

DriveWays helps adults build greater familiarity and confidence with walking, biking, pedestrian safety, adaptive cycling, transit environments, and community navigation.

Experiences may include practicing routes, recognizing environmental cues, using safety equipment, learning basic bike care, exploring adaptive mobility options, and participating in community transportation environments.

CommuniKeys does not provide transportation. The program focuses on skills, access, and supported participation.

Outdoor Learning and Adventure

Outdoor Learning and Adventure creates scaffolded opportunities to explore recreation, nature, and community environments.

Experiences may include hiking, kayaking, boating, climbing, adaptive cycling, equine environments, gardening, and other outdoor activities.

Programs emphasize preparation, sensory access, safety, communication, and meaningful participation rather than performance or competition.

Community Connection

Community Connection programs create repeated opportunities for adults to build relationships, explore interests, and participate in welcoming social and cultural environments.

Experiences may include Keys and Pints, creative workshops, music, community events, local businesses, shared meals, and other opportunities to return to familiar places and strengthen connections over time.

How Participation Works

CommuniKeys programs are generally offered in small cohorts so that experiences can remain responsive, accessible, and relationship-based.

A caregiver or support person attends activities with the participant.

Programs are designed for adults and reflect adult dignity, choice, communication access, and meaningful participation.

Communication methods are welcomed and supported.

Activities are scaffolded according to readiness, sensory needs, communication access, and the demands of each environment.

CommuniKeys does not provide transportation, direct personal care, medical services, residential services, or traditional day programming.
