About the event
CommuniKeys is piloting a small adaptive cycling outing using recumbent cycles rented from Adaptive Recreation Opportunities (ARO).
We will pick up the adaptive cycles at the Fort Collins Senior Center and use a nearby paved loop route. The final route is being selected with an emphasis on a manageable loop rather than an out-and-back, since that format is a better fit for this group. We will ride at a relaxed pace and may finish with a packed lunch/picnic before returning the equipment.
Capacity: up to 3 participants, each attending with a caregiver/support person.
Planned equipment: ARO has 1 recumbent tandem that can be separated into 2 individual recumbent trikes, plus 4 additional recumbent trikes. This allows up to 6 riders on comparable recumbent equipment. Staff may ride alongside on their own bikes.
Please bring: packed lunch if desired, water, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, helmet, and any personal communication or regulation supports.
